no more job hunting for rebecca!

a few days ago i gave a call to my past supervisor for the town of markham
asking if they need a badminton instructor for fall.
and of course they do, not alota ppl can play let alone teach it.

so again this september i've got a job
instructing the badminton class for children and preteens yay!

and on top of that she offered me two other jobs.

one was to supervise/convene the adult baddy class,
to make sure everything was set-up and was running smoothly.
the other was to assist the instructor of the kiddies gym program,
so that i can learn how to set up and run the program
so that i could later in january run it on my own.

both at the new community centre angus glen.
new facilities are always nice =)

oh the offers were so juicy and greedy as i was, i wanted all three.
but the second one, for the kiddies gym program
required me to be there at 11am on sundays..
which would get in the way of sunday service,
so i turned that one down..

but im going to take the adult badminton class.
this should be a breeze =D

and then since we were on the topic,
i asked about supervising kiddiez korner in the winter..
i really wanna step it up and not just be an instructor but a supervisor.
hopefully it'll pull through.
cuz she has to offer it to the summer supervisor first.

oh well, i'll just wait for now.

i will slowly move up the corporate ladder for the town of markham..
the program supervisors are getting old.
all those baby boomers have to retire soon.
and once they do.. i'll pounce my way in! muahaha..
easy jobs with easy pay.

they need some fresh blood in there anyways.
everythings a big, unorganized mess in the town of markham.
they need some new management.. me!

but then i need to get a recreational leadership type of diploma
in order for me to move past supervisor of a program.
ugh more school.

weeee'll see. i have a long way to go til then.

what i do know, is that this is what i love to do.

not graphic design.
unless its largely marketing, cuz i do enjoy that a lot too.
oh but thats another topic to be discussed later.

- - - - -

ugh, summers almost over.

u know what that means..
my blogspot background will be outdated!

now i'll have to come up with a new, exciting layout
that everyone will go oohh and aahh to.

oh, the pressures of being a designer.

but right now im working on my new site design
for extrasweetplease.com

its all on paper and in my head right now.
just have to get the push to really execute it.
u know how i hate web media.. yuck!

now im off to ump the game at york mills 2pm.
ciao for now =)

// Wednesday, August 18

yay my mac is back *hug*
ive missed u so very much.
the nights are so cold without you =P

just got back from going to the driving range with my clientele louis.
him and his cartridge boys.
i finally got around to using some creative muscle,
which really needs to be woken up from hibernation soon,
so his logo is done. yay!

now i have time to finish up the yubc site
and hopefully get around to making my site
and making a blogspot for will too.

- - - - -

oh i like the smaller blogspot bar up there. sexy.

// Monday, August 16

yay, dim sum date with john sum tmr!
cant wait for some yummy food
and juicy conversation.

hah. im not a pimp or anything,
i just like chilling with my boys.
they put a smile on my face
and brighten up my day =)

- - - - -

now that summer school is over,
i hope that i'll have time
to make that website i've been meaning to make
i mean, im paying for the domain name
so i might as well make use of it.

- - - - -

the retreat was great.
i enjoyed the fellowship with my friends,
the devos, the worship, the wacky games we played.

God really does love me, so much.
sometimes the stress and busyness
gets in the way of what life really is.

i need so start asking myself why i do some things,
what the purpose of it is and if its glorifying Him.
thers so much meaningless garbage out there.
you could waste ur life away really easily nowadays.

it was a good reminder for me,
to really reflect on how im living right now.
on what i care about and what i dont care about.

- - - - -

hm, speaking of summer school earlier.

out of the whole school yr
somethings finally come about.

my prof and i had a good talk after i wrote my exam.
about florida and things, but mostly on beliefs.
i bought him the book Case for Christ,
because hes one who likes evidence and such.
he told me we could swap by me reading this book
called the Poisonwood Bible, so i agreed.

there are so many ppl like him out there..
longing for something more, searching,
but not quite finding anything.
stuck on the fact that there can't possibly be a God out there.
why must they turn away?

God offers something so much better than any textbook, tv show or person could ever offer - He offers life.

what more can you ask for?

// Friday, August 13

off to rhcbc's summer retreat!

back on sunday =)

- - - - -

oh and thanks to tim,
i have sexy highlights in my hair.
not as bright and bold as i hoped
but still nicely done.

and for his bright pink hair
its great =D

a nice change to his once blond hair.

// Monday, August 9

yay i have a date with jay tonight!

havent seen him in sooo long.
has it been a month? probably!
ive missed my sweetheart =P

// Saturday, August 7

we're back!

if ur just tuning in now,
rebecca has just came back from her 15 day vacation to the sunshine state of florida!
a vacation that was made super special because her beloved bf was there with her.

all in all i must say it was very fun.
disney world was so.. magical!
especially magic kingdom that had all the characters.
brought back so many childhood memories and dreams.

how shall i sum it up?
mm.. here goes

sarasota
so as i wrote about last wk, it was good.
pretty quiet, but very beautiful nonetheless.

tell me, how cool is it
to have fruit u can eat growing in your front yard?
in the townhouse we rented,
we had papaya, luk yow (that chinese fruit that sounds like butt),
and bananas growing and ready to eat!
i also had some fresh, off the tree lychees! yum yum.

hot, humid and rainy
yeah that about sums up the weather there.
we came just in time for the rainy season.
it rained HARD every single day.

so one second you're boiling and drenched with sweat from the unbearable heat.
then the next you're in the middle of a thunderstorm that came out of no where.
its greeaaat.

driving
american drivers are so bad!!

no one follows any rules,
no one signals, everyone cuts everyone off,
its a everyone for themselves type of thing out there.

sarasota drivers were pretty bad too.. haha
but in orlando it wasnt as bad,
mb because everyone there ISNT american,
theyre all tourists! hah.

my mom drove us around all week in orlando.
and she got lost every single day.
its not like it was really hard to follow either,
i mean, on hwy 192, one way brings us home, the other brings u to disney.

and plus her driving was just.. so bad!
i felt so car sick all the time.
felt like i was on some stupid motion sickness prone epcot ride.

the highlight of the wk was when we were lost
on some unknown back street heading to where we thought was home
and my mom had the light on, looking for the map and all
while trying to navigate the road.
and she pulls away just in time before she hits this car coming at us in the opposite direction.

and then a cop pulls us over. ha!
ma'am i have been following you for a while now
and it seems you're lost.
you're swirving in and out of the lanes,
you haven't once been in the lane you're driving in.
you also have your light on, and you almost caused in accident there.

hah. me and Will were trying to hold back our laughter
as the police lady directed us back to the 192.
it was about time my mom got pulled over for her wreckless driving.

christians
i feel like there are a lot of christians in america.
though, as john sum points out, there are a lot of them who just call themselves christians, i feel like its more looked up upon then here in canada.

you see a lot more christian stuff being sold,
everything from bumper stickers to tshirts.
even in the small town of sarasota,
there are churches everywhere! on almost every other block.
i really wanted to head to one for sunday service,
but i didnt getta chance to with no ride there.

even on their dollar bills they have "in God we trust"
not that it really means anything, or that there are more christians in the states.

theyre just.. not as secular as we are here.

believing in your dreams
the overall, booming theme of magic kingdom,
believing in your dreams, and they'll come true.

well hey, it came true for mister walt disney.
creating a theme park so huge, so successful.
where ppl from all over the world come and embark in it.
small children and big children, of all nationalities.

of course, only the ones with cash.
because everything is expensive.

what a dream come true it must be for mister disney.
to make so many ppl so happy.

its a really good thing to hold on to, your dreams.
to always have hope in what you believe in..
i thought it was awesome that they kept pounding this idea into kids' heads all through out disney.

though as you grow up, reality does takes over,
childhood dreams dont seem as dreamy as they were before.
but hey, its always good to have hope.

cant wait to take my children to disney!

can you feel the love tonight?
as i've mentioned before,
Will got a chance to tag along with my family for vacation.
and what a trip it was.

dealing with my mom.. sometimes can be difficult.
and without continual pushing and reminding,
i don't think either of us wouldve survived.. hah.

it was really cool living in the same house.
having him with me at every meal, every outing, every ride.

i had some time to really bond with my siblings on the trip.
something that doesnt happen too often at home.
and it was really cool that he was there too,
to share in the laughs and talks.
hes really becoming a part of the family.

my trip was ended off really well,
with our stroll in downtown disney.
the lights and the ppl, the music and each other.

cap'n jacks restaurant was really good food,
compared to all the other expensive restaurants in orlando.

but neways. i had an awesome time with him =)
can't wait for our own trip together!

vacation at last?
so after i walked away from all the busyness of home,
i walked into a world of dreams, of fun and relaxation.

now im back.

back to my responsimabilities.
- my moms still in miami for business so ive got the siblings to take care of for the wk.
- designing, designing, designing
- salt fellowship secretary/treasurer for 2004-05
- possibly bible study leading?

plus my mac is still not working so i have to get it fixed.

and i had my final exam to write on monday night.
and i promised tim i wouldnt study during my trip hah.
what a silly thing to have to promise.
so i have to cram like crazy today and monday.

cuz tmr theres a game at 4pm/york mills - dunamis + judges.
its our last game of the season before playoffs start.
woohoo!! lets go dunamis.
i hope i still rmb how to play =P

pictures
of course, if you go on vacation, you mustve taken pictures.
Will took hundreds of photos i believe heh.
and i took some too.

but writing this already took up too much time out of studying.
so im going to attempt that at another time.

the end?
okay i think thats all i'll write.
thats plenty to ready for those who actually read it.

give me a call if u like!
ive been so friend-deprived =P
see you all ltr!

OH YEAH!
i chopped my hair off btw. ha.
my long asian hair all gone.
i cut almost a foot of hair off the day before i left.

darryl told me my hair would come back as a frizz ball cuz of the humidity.
sooo i decided that mb i could cut it short.
so it would be more managable.

and plus i've been getting really sick of the long hair.
takes sooo long to dry it so its staight, ugh.
and i look the same everrry single day.
so i wanted a change..

so its all gone! haha.
its just at my shoulder right now.
sooo much faster to wash and dry.
a nice change for sure =)
im currently considering highlighting it red.
but we'll see!
