we played awesome last wkend. 2-0 =D

lately ive been getting a lot of last minute cries for help
for a variety of design projects.. =/
everything from jerseys to homework to handbooks

geez louise!

i dont mind designing stuff..
as long as its not really last minute!
and i guess i could perhaps take it as a compliment
that ppl think i am reliable? maaaybe.

my portfolio is steadily building tho..

well.. dragonboat was an interesting experience

i was there both saturday and sunday
at wee hrs in the morning til late afternoon.

i chose well =D
the vip tent is the most chilling place.
start work at 12, serve food til 3 then u can leave
and i didnt have much to serve anyways
cuz i was just supervising and
making sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to.

i 'chilled' with a bunch of canadian idols in Will's lingo.
ie. they were standing outside my tent.
they sang a very nice national athem for us.

saw alota ppl at db, met some cool ppl also.

Will took me on the train in centreville.
was a nice ride, reminded me of my childhood days.
hes sucha sweety pie =)

today im heading over to fairview mall with tim.
aka timberly.. hah from rival tc media! *shakes fist*
im heading there to apply to a few places.
YES im still job hunting..
summer will be over by the time i find one.

but then again, my zoom media promotional thing
starts this friday. i'll be promoting some biotherm products
at woodlands golf club in brampton.
again, more waking up at 5 to get there at 7am =/
but $ is $ and its good pay too, so i cant complain.

dragonboat saturday and sunday..

is it fun? sure i guess so.
is it tiring? heeeecck yeah.

u know, when i think about it
im really lucky, really blessed
to have so many awesome friends around me.

- friends who email me small words of encouragement.
- friends who get me little gifts on their vacation.
- friends who will skip studying to spend some time with me.
- friends who listen to me blabber at 2am at night.
- friends who would make it a point to take me out for lunch bc they missed my bday party.
- friends who call me to chill when theyre near fmp.
- friends who will call me up for softball.

and on top of this, i have a loving bf
who is always there for me,
always providing, always trying to better our relationship
emotionally and spiritually.

i point these things out not as a bragging right,
but to appreciate those who have done more than enough.
so if ur reading the above and any of it applies to you,
then thanks =) rebecca appreciates it alot.

this humidity is disgusting!
its days like this that make me regret my decision to not take the job
where im in an air conditioned building for my four months of summer
getting paid to coordinate stuff. how great would that be.

instead, i'll be in smoking florida where it'll be incredibly gross like today.
im going to come back a puddle of mush cuz i'll have melted.
and on my wkends i'll be out playing softball in the smokin sun,
where i'll come home one big tomato. greaaat.

but then again,
its days like this that make me rejoice cuz i have an underground garage
so my car doesnt have to sophicate in the sun all day.

my genetic course is getting more and more interesting..

the more i learn about the stuff inside us,
why we look the way we look
and how everything just works together perfectly..

makes me stand just that much more in awe of our awesome Creator
how he designed us was just right.
if these genes didnt code for these proteins that didnt do their thing
to do some specific job. any one less we wouldnt be who we are..
but it does work perfectly..

and every creature in this world is made the same way.
u think that by some random chance
that evolution all evolved us all the same way?
i dont think so.

we discussed in class how science can be very stubborn.
of course the prof didnt put it in this way.
he said that "science is conservative and ppl are reluctant to change
and give up on an idea that has been previously been effective"
yes exactly - stubborn.
and its this type of teaching that makes our society so secular,
so reluctant to any other ideas that may actually be more correct.

but of course if science were not stubborn it wouldnt be very stable..
but still.

but neways. im not here to bash science.
more to give the praise to God.
the ultimate interior designer. =D

on a side note. im very excited for bible study this friday.
not that its not exciting all the time.
but this time is especially deep material we're covering.
for me anyways. hopefully i can convey that to my group also.
we're studying Hebrews right now, a very interesting book..

why do i suck at directions so much?

yday when i went to ikea, coming off thw 404 at sheppard
i got lost, found myself in some foreign neighborhood maze
then found myself at loblaws at donmills and finch somehow.
then finally with directions from Will i got to ikea.

then they didnt have this duver cover i wanted
so i went to the other ikea before school, the one at 400 and hwy 7.
so i took the 407 and switched over to the 400 from that.
i guessed wrong and went north to barrie instead of south to toronto
so then i found myself exiting at rutherford.. where ever that is
had to make this big circle down to jane to hwy 7 then back to the 400.

holy moly.

i change my answer.
i dont like driving cuz i suck at directions and i always get lost!

i went to eat at Mandarin, that chinese buffet at woodbine at 14
and i must say, for a chinese place, the service was great!
not only do servers and hostesses greet u pleasantly,
the ppl who are cooking and ppl who change the food things,
they greet u to with a happy hello how are you?

mb its because of their large gwai lo crowd?
or mb their boss stresses customer service,
which is way not common in chinese restaurants,
unless the boss.. is not chinese..! ah whatever =P

the food selection was normal i guess.
the dessert was yummmmy.

not a bad place at all.

i dunno if its the outlet mall or the states,
but the sales ppl werent that friendly..

when mom got lost she stopped at this parking lot
and across the street there was a sign
"NO STANDING FROM HERE TO THE LINE -->"
no standing signs??

they have this section of buffalo
where all the streets are named numbers.
it was like someone took a piece of paper and a ruler
drew some lines on the map and said,
"okay this is first st. second st. third st..." and so on.
talk about lazy and uncreative =P

everywhere u look theres american patriotism!
at almost every store in the mall
were shirts or other things that had the stars, the stripes.
many houses had flags hanging from them.
that pointing guy was one of the main advertisements in the foodcourt
and the american flagged eagle was seen at different places also..

you would never see canadians
sporting their cool red maple leafs on their shirts.
nor would u see many flags outside our houses.

its just interesting i guess. different.
